he weekend of July 14-15 was one to remember for NorCal natives Cameron Champ (bottom left) and Juli Inkster. Champ, 23, earned his first professional victory at the Tour Utah Championship thanks in part to a first round 10-under 61. The Texas A&M product, who secured his PGA Tour card for 2019 with the win, got some help from the Utah elevation. Already the longest player on tour with a 342.7 yard driving average, Champ drove it an average of 390.8 yards in the thinner air. Inkster, meanwhile, closed out a second place finish at the inaugural U.S. Senior Women's Open at Chicago Golf Club with a score of 6-under 286. "It means a lot for women's golf," said the 2017 NCGA Hall of Fame inductee of the championship. "All these women out here, they love to compete." NORCAL NEWS
