NORCAL PLAYERS ilson, who turned 55 in June, shot 10-over 290 (T-31) at the U.S. Senior Open at The Broadmoor to finish as the low amateur in the event. "It's huge," Wilson told FOX Sports. "It's so hard just to get here in the first place." It's not the first time Wilson has shined on the USGA stage. The one-time pro was the talk of the 2010 U.S. Amateur when he posted a course record 62 during stroke play qualifying. It remains the second lowest score in the 110-year history of the U.S. Amateur. In 2000, meanwhile, Wilson was the low amateur at the 2000 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach Golf Links. Thanks to his finish at The Broadmoor, he'll return to Pebble Beach for this month's U.S. Amateur. Chalk up yet another sensational showing in a USGA championship by Fairfield resident Jeff Wilson.
