DECEMBER 2019 3 LEARN THE RULES If you want to really get to know the new 2019 Rules of Golf, you'll want to attend an NCGA Rules workshop 4 SPARKLING DEBUT Longtime Green Valley CC member Jeff Wilson capped a career 2018 season with a victory at the California Senior Amateur Championship. 6 BIRD IN HAND Sacramento native Cameron Champ more than secured his PGA Tour playing status with a victory at the Sanderson Farms Championship. 7 FINDING PLACES TO PLAY The NCGA's new Online Course Directory makes it a cinch to learn about and find places to play. 9 PLAYING FASTER The new 2019 Rules of Golf includes changes that will help you get around the course faster. 10 CALENDAR On the Tee: December Dragonfly Golf Club made it back-to-back, capturing the annual NCGA Team Match Championship title Oct. 28 with a 26-10 victory over Oakhurst GC at par-71 Poppy Hills GC. The last and only team to win three straight Team Match crowns was Whitney Oaks GC, who did it from 2012-2014. "The guys are already talking about going for it," Dragonfly GC team captain Steve Neer said. "It's hard to just win one of these." The championship uses a format where two players from a side face off against two players from an opposing side in four-ball and individual matches concurrently, with players earning two points for a win and one point for a halve.
