They've been runner-up three of the last four years (2015, '17-18). 38th NCGA Mid-Amateur Championship When: June 8-9 Where: Poppy Hills GC Divot: Don't look for a runaway winner here. The championship has gone to extra holes three of the last four years. Last year, Matt Cohn won in a playoff. 108th California Amateur Championship (Handicap Index 4.4 or less) When: June 24-29 Where: Monterey Peninsula Country Club Divot: The runner-up at the 2013 Cal Am at MPCC was Bryson DeChambeau. The Shore Course at MPCC co-hosts the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. 39th NCGA Amateur Stroke Play Championship When: July 12-14 Where: Poppy Hills GC Divot: Defending champion Nick Moore will be a good bet to repeat. The event has had two back-to- back champs (Ben Geyer 2012-13, Robby Salomon 2015-16) in the last seven years. 54th NCGA Public Links Championship When: July 22-23 Where: Poppy Hills GC Divot: There's new dates for the annual Public Links Championship. The last player to repeat as cham- pion is current St. Mary's golf coach Scott Hardy (2010-11). 16th NCGA Valley Amateur Championship When: August 5-6 Where: Oakdale GC Divot: With his win last year, then-45-year-old Jerry Ledzinski became one of the event's oldest champi- ons. Trevor Clayton shot the all-time NCGA low 18-hole score (62) at the 2014 event at Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton. 116th NCGA Amateur Match Play Championship When: August 12-16 Where: Spyglass Hill Divot: 2018 medalist Blake Hathcoat matched 2015 winner Maverick McNealy for the lowest NCGA individual round ever at Spyglass (65). Former champs include Kevin Sutherland and Arron Oberholser. 16th NCGA Mid-Amateur Four-Ball Championship When: October 7-8 Where: Poppy Hills GC Divot: With his win in 2018, NCGA Hall of Famer Randy Haag tied James Hay for the most event victories (4). Haag has won twice with Jason Anthony and twice with Darryl Donovan. Senior Scratch Players 21st NCGA Senior Four-Ball Championship When: April 1-3 Where: Poppy Hills GC Divot: The 2018 championship saw James Camaione and Steve Donnelly win their first NCGA scratch titles. The event added a Super Senior division in 2015. F eaturing over 500 tournament days, the 2019 NCGA championship calendar is chock full of events for players of all abilities.
