Gary Vanier is the only player to win the event three times (2006-07 and '13). 13th NCGA Senior Amateur Match Play Championship (Handicap Index 7.4 or less) When: August 13-16 Where: Poppy Hills GC, Spyglass Hill Divot: Defending champion Tony Padilla is no stranger to pressure. He's refereed at college hoop's Final Four. Padilla snapped Randy Haag's two-year win streak. 4th NCGA Super Senior Amateur Match Play Championship (No limit) When: August 13-16 Where: Poppy Hills GC, Spyglass Hill Divot: It's a good bet that Monterey Peninsula CC member Frank Pieper will reach the finals. He has each of the event's first three years, winning in both 2016 and '17. 58th NCGA Senior Championship (Handicap Index 7.4 or less) When: September 11-13 Where: Poppy Hills GC Divot: In winning in 2018, Jim Knoll joined Cornelius Bertolone and Kai Thomsen as three-time winners of the event. The all-time victory leader is Jim McMurtrey with five. 10th NCGA Super Senior Championship (Handicap Index 9.4 or less) When: October 14-15 Where: Merced Golf and Country Club Divot: There's yet to be a repeat champion in the nine year-history of the event. 28th California Senior Amateur Championship (Handicap Index 7.4 or less) When: November 11-13 Where: Wilshire CC Divot: Wilshire CC is the current home of the LPGA Tour Hugel-JTBC LA Open. Jim McMurtrey, Jeff Burda and John Pate are the only multiple winners of the event. Juniors 90th NCGA Junior Championship When: July 8-9 Where: Green Hills CC Divot: Some big names including Ken Venturi (1949), Johnny Miller (1963) and Bobby Clampett (1976) got their starts in the NCGA Junior. Women's Events 41st California Senior Women's Amateur Championship When: May 20-22 Where: Quail Lodge Resort Divot: Marianne Towersey won the event six times in a row from 2004-2009. 15th NCGA Women's Amateur Championship (Handicap Index 7.4 or less) When: July 1-2 Where: Poppy Hills GC Divot: Camille Orito caught fire en route to winning the 2016 title, carding a then-Poppy Hills women's record 6-under 66. The NCGA's home course, Poppy Hills GC (left) , hosted the 2018 U.S. Girls' Junior Championship. Some events, including the NCGA Amateur Match Play Championship, are held at Spyglass Hill (above) .
