On April 22 at Half Moon Bay Golf Links, Byrnes set a Guinness world record for most holes played in a span of 24-hours by tallying an amazing 420. The previous mark of 401 holes had been set by Australian Ian Colston in 1971. The 43-year-old Byrnes, who played under USGA Rules, was helping to raise awareness and funds for the Let Them Play Foundation, which focuses on funding specific needs for organizations that provide the means and opportunity for children to play.
