JULY 2019 3 BRIGHT LIGHTS, GREAT GOLF You won't want to miss the NCGA's first Members trip to Las Vegas, set for December 6-10. 4 GETTING TO AUGUSTA Poppy Hills GC hosted a local qualifier for the annual Drive, Chip and Putt competition, which finishes at famed Augusta National. 6 WOMEN'S GOLF DAY The NCGA's Poppy Hills GC and Poppy Ridge GC were among hundreds of courses worldwid e that celebrated annual Women's Golf Day. 7 CHAMPION AT PEBBLE Gary Woodland joined the likes of Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods as winners of a U.S. Open at Pebble Beach Golf Links. 8 LEARNING CURVE The NCGA and NCPGA united in Spring to host a number of a free NCGA Skills Clinics. 10 CALLING ALL "HIKERS" The annual Youth on Course Hundred-Hole Hike, where hikers play 100 holes in one day, is happening again this Fall. 11 PERFECT PAIRING Icon Jim Nantz and legend Jack Nicklaus got together for a one-on-one interview during U.S. Open week. 12 CALENDAR Red Hot Olympic Club member Jason Anthony (below) continued his torrid pace, winning the annual NCGA Mid- Amateur (June 8-9) at Poppy Hills GC by four shots. It was the 36-year-old's fourth career NCGA victory. Having won a week prior at the Billy Bell Cup, Anthony as of early June had finished either first or second in his last six tournaments. The lone exception was the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship.
