NCGA.ORG | SUMMER 2019 57 T he NCGA's Poppy Ridge GC and Poppy Hills GC were among over 700 facilities worldwide that celebrated what has become annual Women's Golf Day on June 4. Founded in 2016, Women's Golf Day is a global one-day event to engage, empower and support girls and women playing golf and learning the skills that last a lifetime. At Poppy Hills, festivities included participants getting a go at various learning stations such as putting, driving and fitness. Look for the 2020 Women's Golf Day event to again be held the first week of June! Inside: 58 Tournament Central 65 Member Benefits 66 Junior Tour Report 68 Rules 69 NCGA Events 70 Youth on Course 71 NCGA News Around the NCGA The Classroom: NCGA Skills Clinics T his spring, the NCGA partnered with instructors from the Northern California PGA Section to offer a new member benefit for 2019. Eighteen free NCGA Skills Clinics were held across the region at courses like Contra Costa CC, Silverado Resort, Quail Lodge Resort, Old Greenwood, Poppy Hills and Poppy Ridge and many more. Over 400 members joined in on the fun, brushing up on their skills and meeting fellow members under the watchful eye of a local PGA instruc- tor. As one member commented after attending a Skills Clinics, "The facility was first rate and all of the instructors were knowledgeable, professional and friendly." Missed out on the program this year? Because of all the positive feed- back we received from members during this year's trial, the program will be available again next spring. Keep an eye out for the clinic schedule to be released in early 2020. DAY to CELEBRATE
