Ietetsu with K elli Corlett of T he First Tee Seeking an embodiment of what junior golf can do for a kid? Look no further than 12-year-old Ietetsu Ueyama. A participant in The First Tee of Greater Sacramento since the age of four, Ueyama embraces the program's Nine Core Values closely, and furthers his adoration for the game by volunteering for Tots on the Tee, a junior program for kids ages three and four, at Haggin Oaks in Sacramento. And when not holding a club in his own hands? The junior works so others can. For his eighth birthday, Ueyama had friends donate to Morton Golf Foundation in lieu of giving him presents. "The reason I did that is because I love golf and I know some other people can't afford to play golf, so I decided that I wanted those donations to go to the foundation to give other people the opportunity," he says.
