Playing With the Pros A JTNC Boys' player will again tee off with the professionals at the annual Web.com Tour Ellie Mae Classic at TPC Stonebrae in Hayward (pictured above). On June 28, a field of 72 players will com- pete in an 18-hole qualifier at Poppy Ridge GC in Livermore with the medalist earning an automatic spot in the Ellie Mae Classic. Last year, Colt McNealy, the younger brother of pro Maverick McNealy, earned the Ellie Mae Classic ticket by shooting 1-under 70 on the TPC Stonebrae course. This year's Ellie Mae Classic is slated for Aug. 9-12. Looking ahead, the JTNC Summer Series II Championship (June 13-14 at Poppy Ridge) will be a qualifier for this year's PGA Junior Championship. J TNC members have a new route to earn a spot in the presti- gious NCGA Junior Championship. For the first time, the Spring Series counts as a qualifying series. Broken down, that means for every Spring Series championship (Spring I-Spring VII), the top three finishers inside the Top 10 who are not already exempt into the NCGA Junior will earn a playing spot. "It's a new and exciting way to get more of the best JTNC play- ers into the NCGA Junior Championship," said JTNC Director Aaron Hartesveldt. Hartesveldt said players will be notified if they have earned a spot in the NCGA Junior following the conclusion of each Spring Series event. This year's 89th NCGA Junior Championship will be held at Lake Merced GC in Daly City (pictured above), site of the inaugural 1930 championship. New Qualifying Series for NCGA Junior Championship
