Girls Junior: Pat Hurst (San Leandro) in 1986 and Dorothy Delasin (South San Francisco) in '96. Christina Kim (San Jose) earned medal- ist honors in 2001 and Paula Creamer (Pleasan- ton) reached the semifinals in '03. This year, Lucy Li carries the NorCal ban- ner. Li, a 15-year-old Junior Tour of Northern California member from Redwood Shores, gained acclaim in 2014, when she qualified for the U.S. Women's Open at age 11. She was named to the U.S. Curtis Cup team in April. Poppy Hills general manager Brad Shupe finds it fitting for the course to host the Girls' Junior, and not only because of this long NorCal tradition. "I think supporting women's golf is impor- tant," Shupe said. "Rounds have declined over the last 10 years or so, and one of the major things to contribute to the success of golf in the future is growing the women's game.
